Yoga unveils our most positive qualities, such as patience, compassion, acceptance and joy. As it dissolves the walls within us, we become free – and the grace from our practice emanates as a healing force in the world. This is the power behind Yoga for a Cause. For almost 9 years, we have met weekly at Piedmont Yoga, held holiday workshops, and offered special events. In the past year, we began Naad Yoga and Kirtan classes to generate even stronger vibrations for global healing. We belong to 85 non-profits worldwide working for peace, conservation, and human rights, and in this way cast our vote as a community for positive change.
All Yoga for a Cause events are by donation and for all levels. Everyone is welcome. Come practice with us, or start your own donations class for this purpose, and offer your gesture of balance to the planet.
What is Naad Yoga?
Naad Yoga is the science of sacred sound and vibration. Yolanda teaches from the Kundalini tradition of the Sikhs, who use devotional chanting to connect with God. Chants are in Gurmukhi, an ancient Indian language akin to Sanskrit, which is known to vibrate the brain with the ecstacy of the divine. Vibration is the essence of existence, and all yoga is based on vibration and flow. Chanting uplifts us and entrains consciousness with higher dimensions where peace and healing abide, and is a yogic tool that quickly bridges matter and spirit.
